LAFC vs Real Salt Lake Highlights

LAFC dropped yet another three points in phase one, this time against Real Salt Lake. While the visitors continue to struggle against their Western Conference opponents, Damir Kreilach continues to torment LAFC.

LAFC did very little to impress overall in this one, and Real Salt Lake took control of the game quickly. Meram tested Sisniega early with a curler to the far post, but the keeper did well to push it wide for the corner. On the ensuing corner, Kreilach smashed a backpost header into the upper corner to put the home side up a goal in just the 9th minute.

In the beginning of the second half, Meram found his opportunity. The ball was pinging around inside the box after LAFC failed to clear it. Meram snatched it, and with a nice bit of footwork to let the LAFC defenders hurl past him, he tucked it into the back of the net from inside the six.

Rusnak then sealed it in the 79th minute from the penalty spot after Jordan Harvey was called for a handball inside the box. The foul was unintentional, but it hardly mattered, just like the ensuing penalty.

LAFC have now lost four of five since restarting the regular season after the MLS is Back Tournament. Their final match of phase one this Sunday welcomes the Portland Timbers to Banc of California Stadium.
