LAFC vs Real Salt Lake Highlights

LAFC met Real Salt Lake in their first ever MLS playoff appearance on Thursday night in downtown Los Angeles. The back-and-forth match featured multiple stunners from both sides, but ultimately came down to a fluky deflection goal that will send Real Salt Lake on to the next round of the playoffs.

Damir Kreilach opened the scoring off a cross with a calm chest trap in traffic for an easy slot into the corner. LAFC quickly answered with back to back goals from Danilo Silva and Christian Ramirez, the latter of which was an absolute pile driver into the upper corner of Rimando’s net.

But LAFC was unable to hold onto the lead. Kreilach answered with his second of the night, a full volley crane kick off the post from outside the box that would make anyone’s career highlight tape. Jefferson Savarino then bounced a shot off Walker Zimmeran’s face for the own-goal winner.

Real Salt Lake advances to the Western Conference Semifinals against Sporting Kansas City.
