LAFC vs Real Salt Lake Highlights
LAFC and Real Salt Lake have developed a tremendous rivalry in a scant year and a half.
In what was an extremely fast-paced, end-to-end game, LAFC showed why they are genuine frontrunners for the MLS Cup. On a night when the visitors went down a man extremely early after Zimmerman picked up his second yellow only minutes into the second half, LAFC showed a ton of grit to pick up a shutout win.
Vela fought to draw a penalty in the 62nd minute, which got Aaron Herrera sent off for denying a goal-scoring opportunity. LAFC then responded to the field opening up by scoring a second in the 82nd to clinch the result, a beautiful back post goal from Adama Diomande.
Carlos Vela made history as well. His 24 goals and 15 assists mean he has been involved in more of his teams goals than anyone in MLS history.
LAFC square off against West Coast competitors San Jose on Wednesday at Banc of California Stadium.
