LAFC vs St Louis CITY Highlights – July 12, 2023
In a 3-0 shutout, there were plenty of LAFC vs St Louis CITY highlights on the side of the Black and Gold as Carlos Vela, Stipe Biuk, and José Cifuentes all converted a goal each in their victory on Wednesday at BMO Stadium. After a scoreless first half, LAFC went ham in the second to secure their first home win since June 21.
Kicking off the LAFC vs St Louis CITY highlights is Vela who scored in the 72nd minute of the match. Cifu, who made an assist on the play, shot a long ball across the field which landed perfectly in front of Vela who finished perfectly on the back left corner of the net past St Louis CITY goalkeeper Roman Bürki.
Ten minutes later, LAFC’s Denis Bouanga found teammate Stipe Biuk as he ran down the penalty area for a shot in the exact same location as Vela. Fooled you twice, Bürki. With the final nail in the coffin, Cifu was able to add to the LAFC vs St Louis CITY highlights with a goal of his own in the second half stoppage time. LAFC forward Nathan Ordaz crossed one toward Cifu at the penalty arc for a left-footed strike to the back right corner of the net. Tough night for Bürki.
With their first goal of the game, LAFC became the MLS’ fastest team in history to achieve 350 all-time regular season goals by doing so in only 180 games. The previous record was held by D.C. United scored their 350th in their 184th game.
LAFC are now 10-6-6 with 36 points in the 2023 MLS Season and sit in second place in the Western Conference. Coincidentally, St. Louis CITY are two points ahead in first place. The Black and Gold will go back at it on Saturday, July 15 against the Minnesota United at Allianz Field.
