LAFC vs Sporting Kansas City – March 9, 2024

In a defensive match, the LAFC vs Sporting Kansas City bout on Saturday ended in a 0-0 draw, with impressive performances by both LAFC goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and Sporting KC’s Tim Elia. Lloris recorded his first ever clean sheet, and both goalkeepers made six saves a piece throughout the game.

Though Kansas City held more possessions, chances of winning were about even with both teams finishing with 15 shot attempts and six shots on goal. Overall, LAFC had better looks at the back of the net in the 90 minutes of play.

In the second half, Omar Campos made a great run and kicked a cross that almost put Cristian Olivera in position for a tap-in, but Olivera missed just slightly. 2023 MLS Golden Boot winner Denis Bouanga, who signed a multi-year extension with LAFC on Friday, also had a great look in the 67th minute but shot wide. Bouanga recorded five shots for the night with two shots on goal.
