LAFC vs Nashville SC – March 23, 2024

Staying undefeated at home at BMO Stadium, the Black and Gold completed a 5-0 shutout win in the LAFC vs Nashville SC victory on Saturday night. 2023 MLS Golden Boot winner Denis Bouanga finally scored his first goal of the season, along with his second. Three other LAFC jerseys were able to add onto the lead, including Timothy Tillman, Cristian Olivera, and Eduard Atuesta.

In the 9th minute of the match, Tillman followed up on a corner kick that bounced right off Nashville defender Taylor Washington. The ball landed right in front of Tillman who had the easiest tap in of his career. Minutes later, the German midfielder then got tripped up inside the box, leading to a penalty kick for Bouanga. DB doubled the lead to 2-0.

Bouanga wasn’t done yet, as the French winger secured a brace just minutes into the second half with a curvaceous shot inside the far post through Nashville goalkeeper Joe Willis. Olivera then put LAFC up 4-0 in the 75th minute of the match with his very first goal of the season. Olivera made a right-footed shot through Nashville’s Elliot Panicco, who replaced Willis who was sent off following a handball outside the box.

A big shout out to LAFC goalkeeper Hugo Lloris for his second consecutive clean sheet. Lloris has not given up a goal in his last 198 minutes of play at BMO Stadium.

The Black and Gold are now 2-2-1 with seven points. Up next are the Colorado Rapids on March 30.
