In a surprising turn of events, LAFC lost a league game at home. And to Minnesota United.
LAFC looked a bit lackluster as they entered Sunday’s match without their superhero Carlos Vela, who is still recovering from the hamstring injury he picked up during El Trafico last week.
Minnesota United’s Mason Toye showed why he was called up to the U-23 USMNT, scoring back-to-back wonder goals in the 25th and 29th minute.
LAFC certainly had chances and might have made it a contest were it not for the goalkeeping heroics of Minnesota’s Vito Mannone and his eight saves.
LAFC still lead the points race but will be wishing for Vela’s quick return as they head down the final stretch.
