LAFC vs Houston Dynamo  – June 10, 2023

In the worst loss of the 2023 MLS season, the LAFC vs Houston Dynamo match finished in a 4-0 shutout loss for the Black and Gold, who snapped their undefeated streak of four games and are now 7-2-5 with 26 points. Four separate Dynamo players each had their own score, while goalkeeper Steve Clark only had to make two saves on the poor two shots on goal effort by LAFC.

Houston’s Nelson Quiñones drew first blood in the 11th minute of the match, scoring through four Black and Gold defenders while giving the Orange Crush the 1-0 lead. LAFC controlled the remainder of the half, but couldn’t hold up in the second as a penalty for Houston in the 49th minute allowed the home team to score once again as Amine Bassi shot past LAFC goalkeeper John McCarthy to bring the lead to 2-0.

LAFC couldn’t stop the bleeding. Just a few minutes after subbing in for Quiñones, Houston’s Corey Baird stole the ball from Ryan Hollinshead, steamed through Denil Maldonado, and took a right-footed shot past McCarthy into the back of the net.
