LAFC signs midfielder Bajung Darboe to four-year contract

Announced today, LAFC signs midfielder Bajung Darboe to a homegrown contract for four years and through the 2025 season along with a club option for 2027. LAFC also acquires Darboe’s homegrown priority from the Minnesota United in exchange for $50,000 GAM in 2024.

“Darboe is a talented young player with a bright future,” said LAFC Co-President and GM John Thorrington as LAFC signs midfielder Bajung Darboe. “We are excited to welcome him to LAFC and are excited to see him fulfill his potential.”

After leaving Minnesota United, Darboe most recently played for Philadelphia Union II in MLS NEXT Pro. In 2022, the Gambian midfielder played across 15 games while starting in nine. Prior to moving to Minnesota, he previously played for the Chicago Fire FC academy between 2018 and 2019, making LAFC his fourth MLS club. Darboe also played in two friendlies for the United States U-17 team.
