LAFC signs forward Tomás Ángel from Monagas SC

Announced yesterday, LAFC signs forward Tomás Ángel through 2026 with a Club option through 2027. The 20-year-old will occupy an International Roster Slot and will be added once he receives his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P1 Visa.

“Tommy is a gifted and versatile attacker whom we have been monitoring for quite some time during his time with Atlético Nacional and with the Colombian National Teams,” said LAFC Co-President & General Manager John Thorrington as LAFC signs forward Tomás Ángel. “Tommy knows LAFC well, and we are grateful he also believes LAFC is a fantastic next step for his promising career.”

The Colombian forward spent the last three years with Atlético Nacional in Colombia’s First Division. On January 21, 2021, he made his Atlético Nacional debut in a 5-2 victory over Pereira. Ángel recorded three games in his debut season with Atlético Nacional’s senior squad, helping the Club win the 2021 Copa Colombiana.

Ángel helped Atlético Nacional win two Colombian Cup titles in 2022 and 2023 and made 52 appearances and recorded eight goals and two assists across all competitions. Those titles include the Colombian League title in 2022 and one Colombian Super Cup victory in 2023.

Ángel made his debut for the Colombian U20 squad on May 31, 2022. He has represented the Colombian national team at the U19 and U20 levels internationally. Ángel has played for Colombia at the U20 level across 15 games, scoring five goals total with three goals through five games during the 2023 U-20 FIFA World Cup.

As LAFC signs forward Tomás Ángel, the franchise adds more youth to the roster with a balanced presence of prime players and veteran leaders.
