Defender Mamadou Fall returns to LAFC and completes loan with Villarreal CF

Announced today, Mamadou Fall Returns To LAFC as the defender has completed his loan period with La Liga’s Villarreal CF. Fall had been eligible for selection starting on July 5 pending receipt of the International Transfer Certificate.

Defender Mamadou Fall played with Villareal B for nearly a year on loan from Villarreal CF, making 25 game appearances with 22 starts and scoring three goals in 1,988 minutes. Mamadou also played twice for Villarreal’s senior team, once in the Copa Del Rey against St. Amalian on November 12, 2022, and once in La Liga, when Villareal defeated Girona 1-0 on January 22, 2023.

Aren’t we glad to hear the news that Mamadou Fall returns to LAFC. His initial loan stint started back on August 25, 2022, and he made his Villareal B debut and first start on September 3, 2022 in a 3-0 victory over CD Mirandés.

At the age of 18, Fall was welcomed to the Black and Gold on June 4, 2021 from the Soccer Institute of Montverde Academy in Orlando, Florida. Over two seasons, Fall scored five goals throughout 35 games played and 29 starts. Before leaving in the summer of 2022, Fall made 16 regular-season appearances with 13 starts.

In 2021, Fall spent 634 minutes playing on loan with the Las Vegas Lights, LAFC’s USL affiliate club. During that time, he made eight appearances.

As Mamadou Fall returns To LAFC, we welcome the Senegalese defender back to BMO Stadium with open arms. We can expect to see him in action as early as tomorrow night against the San Jose Earthquakes.
