LAFC vs Sporting Kansas City Highlights

LAFC kicked of their second campaign as a member of Major League Soccer on Sunday against Western Conference rivals Sporting Kansas City. Determined not to be pushed around, the home side opened their account at Banc of California Stadium with a tough win.

Sporting Kansas City took the lead early after a fortuitous bounce off the referee handed them an unexpected opportunity. Krisztián Németh slotted a cutback inside the far post to put the visitors up by a goal.

LAFC came out guns blazing in the second half and Diego Rossi’s sneaky curler through traffic in the box leveled things for the home side.

After playing the rest of the second half to a stalemate, the heated match took a sharp turn when Roger Espinoza picked up a second yellow for an ill-advised cheap shot right in front of the referee. The sending off helped open things up for Adama Diamonde, who found an inch of space on a sweet turn in the box and slammed home the winner for LAFC in the 94th minute.
