LAFC vs FC Dallas Highlights

The Black and Gold were back on the road for the LAFC vs FC Dallas match on Saturday at Toyota Stadium. Due to a controversial call early on in the 13th minute of the first half, LAFC had to play with only ten men on the field for the rest of the game.

Only nine minutes into the match, LAFC defender Ryan Hollingshead committed a foul on Dallas midfielder Paul Arriola right inside the top of the penalty area and was initially given a yellow card by the ref. After review, the decision was changed to a red card. Luckily Dallas’s free kick was a miss.

Dallas controlled a majority of the possessions for the rest of the first half, but it was LAFC who came up with a goal in the 49th minute thanks to Chicho Arango’s score over the head of FCD goalkeeper Maarten Paes to give LAFC a 1-0 lead. Giorgio Chiellini was credited with the assist. With 16 goals this 2022 season, Chicho has now scored four goals in the past four games.

Maxime Crépeau played alert as ever, blocking numerous shots from Dallas in the second half. It wasn’t until the 79th minute where Dallas caught LAFC sleeping on a free kick and Jesus Ferreira evened the score to 1-1. Less than three minutes following that embarrassing incident, Ferreira was able to secure a brace with another free kick and now has 18 goals over the course of this season.

LAFC would have clinched the Western Conference but ended the night losing 2-1 against FCD, resulting in their third loss in the past five matches. The club will play Minnesota United on Tuesday, September 13.
