LAFC vs FC Dallas Highlights

In a crucial Western Conference match, the battle between LAFC vs FC Dallas kicked off at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles and resulted in a 3-1 win for the Black and Gold. LAFC’s Danny Musovski, Cristian Arango, and Kwadwo Opoku all made the scoreboard on Wednesday night in Gareth Bale’s first match at his new LA home.

The first goal came in the 23rd minute on a clean look by Musovski at the near post to put LAFC up 1-0. Just 15 minutes later, FC Dallas forward Jesus Ferreira managed to unexpectedly loft one over LAFC goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau’s head for the perfectly placed equalizer. Marco Farfan was first able to juke the free kick to let Ferreira time his shot.

While the first half ended in a draw, LAFC were able to pick up the pace in the second half when Chicho crossed the ball to the right post for the 2-1 lead. In that 57th minute, Carlos Vela found Chicho on the run and gained the assist and he found space for his mate.

Opuku was subbed in at the 72’ and hammered the nail in the coffin just minutes after at the 86’ with a left-footed shot outside the box past FC Dallas goalkeeper Maarten Paes for a 3-1 lead. The goal was Opoku’s fourth of the 2022 season.

Now with 36 points, the Angelenos have demonstrated their supremacy and keep their Western Conference and MLS lead with even more cushion. Austin FC trails behind with 29 points. On short rest, LAFC will play again this weekend against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday, July 2.
