
Black & Gold come out short in LAFC vs Toronto FC preseason match
In a closed-door scrimmage in Irvine, California, the Black & Gold weren’t able to come out with a win in the LAFC vs Toronto FC preseason match that resulted in a 2-1 loss. This was their first meeting with former coach Bob Bradley who is now the head coach and sporting director of The Reds.
The first half of the match was scoreless, then Ifunanyachi Achara of the Toronto FC scored in the second half on top of the box at the 66th minute while Jordan Peruzza, who now has two goals this preseason, raised the lead 8 minutes later. In the 84th minute, LAFC was finally able to make a score with the help of academy player Nathan Ordaz. Unfortunately the team was unable to even the board with the remaining time.

“We have to be satisfied with the work we put in today. Most of the things we have worked on in training are showing up in our friendly games.”

Head coach Steve Cherundo was also interviewed after the 2-1 loss.
“This was a step in the right direction in many ways. We will focus on those when we review this game tomorrow.”

The next game up for LAFC is on Tuesday, February 15 in Indio, California against D.C. United.
