LAFC vs Vancouver Whitecaps Highlights

The Vancouver Whitecaps struck early on Saturday. LAFC struck often.

After a bad bit of miscommunication between goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega and center back Dejan Jakovic, the Whitecaps’ Yordy Reyna slotted home an empty-netter in the fifth minute.

LAFC then went on to score six goals over a 30 minute stretch.

The first two were nearly identical corners only a few minutes apart late in the first half. Dio seemed to score the first, but it was deemed an own goal off Rose’s head. There was no mistaking ownership of the second.

Marc-Anthony Kaye opened the second half with an immediate blast into the upper right corner.

Then Vela started cooking. The first was fairly classic Vela — in from the right, ball on the left foot. The shot was deflected in the end, but the result was always going to be the same.

Vela’s second was a header? Weird.

Rossi capped things off a few minutes later with LAFC’s sixth of the night.

LAFC switch competitions now, welcoming the Timbers to Banc of California in four days for the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open Cup.
