LAFC vs Real Salt Lake Highlights

In their second matchup of the season, LAFC vs Real Salt Lake was held once again at Banc of California Stadium on Sunday night where RSL was looking to hold onto their playoff position while LAFC, right under RSL in standings, was on pace to win their third game in a row.

Cristian Arango came in hot right off the start and scored 20 seconds into the match making it the fastest goal in LAFC history. RSL’s Damir Kreilach was able to equalize at the 28 minute mark where the Croatian launched a clean distance strike into the far left post.

2 minutes later at the 30’, Arango gave LAFC a 2-1 lead as he scored his brace with a header from a perfect assist by Eduard Atuesta. In the second half, RSL’s Anderson Julio was able to jet past Tomas Romero with a through ball from Albert Rusnak and score on the breakaway.

With the LAFC vs Real Salt Lake game tied at 2-2, there was some friendly fire on RSL’s end at the 58th minute. Defender Toni Datkovic made a backpass to goalkeeper David Ochoa who had a slight hesi which caused the ball to roll back into their own goal . With a couple more shot attempts on both sides, the game stood still for the rest of the match resulting in a LAFC victory.

At the end of the night, LAFC took all three points which gives them a tie with RSL at 30 points. RSL is still in seventh place because of the goal differential. With a short break, the next matchup for the Los Angeles Football Club will be played on Wednesday, September 15 against Austin FC.
