LAFC vs Minnesota United Highlights
LAFC dropped another two points to Minnesota United on Sunday, but that was hardly the story of the night.
Carlos Vela notched his 31st goal of the season against Minnesota, tying the previous goal scoring record set by Atlanta’s Josef Martinez only a season ago. The goal was vintage Vela, a left foot curler in the 70th minute to the far post after finding a half-yard of space on the right side of the box.
The lead wouldn’t last long, though, as the home side pulled level only eight minutes later on a set piece, a lone weakness on the season for the league best LAFC.
LAFC head into Decision Day with their sights set on toppling two big records. Carlos Vela will be hoping to notch his 32nd goal (at least…), and LAFC will look to break the all-time points in a season record of 71 (they sit on 69 currently) with a win against the Colorado Rapids at Banc of California Stadium.
