LAFC vs FC Dallas – June 1, 2024
Knock on wood, there’s no stopping the Black and Gold as our favorite football club across the nation kept the winning streak alive in the LAFC vs FC Dallas matchup on Saturday. With a 1-0 shutout victory in front of a sellout crowd at BMO Stadium, LAFC now extends their streak to seven games.
The stars shined bright even with short rest following the Minnesota United FC game this past Wednesday. Both clubs had even possession throughout the first half. LAFC set the tempo with a strong attack game with 12 shot attempts with five on target.
The dynamic duo of Bougusz and Bouanga once again sprinkled some magic on the field as the clock ticked to the 74th minute of the match. Bougusz found Bouangs with a clean pass through multiple FC Dallas defenders right at the penalty arc, providing an optimistic 1v1 matchup between the 2023 MLS Golden Boot winner against FC Dallas goalkeeper Maarten Paes.
With a right footed strike, Bouanga darted one into the back of the net to put LAFC up 1-0. In DB fashion, the crowd cheered as the winger did his signature front flip in celebration. Bouanga is now the sixth player this season to reach double figures in goals.
Outside of the limelight, Bogusz is one shy from his assist total from 2023 (4). He has now recorded either an assist or a goal across the past five LAFC wins. LAFC goalkeeper Hugo Lloris tied his career high of shutouts in a row with five.
After a much needed break, LAFC will travel to Florida to play Orlando City SC on Saturday, June 15.
