LAFC vs FC Dallas Highlights

Another big win for the Black & Gold as the LAFC vs FC Dallas matchup ended with two clutch goals by Cristian Arango. With the victory, the Los Angeles FC have eliminated FC Dallas from the playoff race for the Audi 2021 MLS Cup.

FC Dallas started off with a lead at the 10 minute mark when Ryan Hollingshead scored a goal off a pass from forward Jesús Ferreira. Just a minute afterward, Dallas’ Franco Jara tried to chip one over Jamal Blackman but the ball ended up bouncing off the crossbar. Dallas was unable to execute the finish for another goal.

Arango was able to tie up the game and sink in a penalty kick after a call was made on Matt Hedges after video review showed him clipping Raheem Edwards on a break. FC Dallas went on an offensive rush just before halftime where Dallas forward Jáder Obrian led Jara in on goal for a quick finish.

With FC Dallas up 2-1, Arango came back with another equalizer for his 10th goal of the season. There was slight scare on the play as Arango was tripped up hard by Dallas goalkeeper Phelipe Megiolaro.

Just 4 minutes later, LAFC’s Mamadou Fall hit a long cross that was deflected by FC Dallas’ Emmanuel Twumasi. Luckily, Arango was in perfect position as the ball headed his way as he caught it lasered it in for a hat trick and to bring LAFC up 3-2.

After 6 minutes of stoppage time, LAFC was able to hold off FC Dallas to claim victory in a game which could eventually become season saving for them. What a game for the Black & Gold on short rest. It will only get tougher from here as they face Minnesota in a few days from now on Saturday, October 23 at Allianz Field.
