LAFC vs FC Cincinnati Highlights

The intense LAFC vs FC Cincinnati match was a nail biter all the way through its end. With FC Cincinnati leading in the first half, LAFC scored twice in the second and sealed the victory with a 2-1 win on Sunday evening at TQL Stadium.

LAFC had some good looks early on in the game but weren’t able to convert with FC Cincinnati’s No. 2 SuperDraft pick Roman Celentano on the block. This marked Celentano’s first MLS start of his career, making two saves in the first 45 minutes of the match. On the other side, Maxime Crépeau gave up a shot to the Orange and Blue’s Luciano Acosta who scored a goal during stoppage time in the 45’ + 3’.

The Black & Gold answered back in the 59th minute thanks to Kellyn Acosta who kicked a bullet through traffic to the back of the net for the 1-1 equalizer. Celentano’s clean sheet was no more.

There was a close call in the 65’ where FCC’s Alvas Powell fired a shot that bounced over Crépeau but LAFC’s Diego Palacios was in the perfect position to ricochet the ball off the line with a header.

Carlos Vela has been goal-less for the past five games but was able to set up Danny Musovski on a back heel flick to bring LAFC to a 2-1 lead in the 79th. This was Musovski’s first goal of the 2022 MLS season.

With LAFC’s third comeback win of the season, the club has climbed back to the top of the Western Conference rankings (6-1-1, 19 points). The Black & Gold will travel back home to Banc of California Stadium on Sunday, May 1st in a match against The Loons.
