A full month of community service will be provided by the 2021 LAFC Season of Giving
Throughout November and December, LAFC and Target will partner up in the 2021 LAFC Season of Giving. They encourage fans to participate in the hosted events and volunteer opportunities that will bring holiday cheer to thousands of families and community groups around the greater Los Angeles Area.
Beginning Tuesday, November 16 with a Thanksgiving Food Distribution at Banc of California Stadium, LAFC and Target will kick off a full schedule of community events for the LAFC Season of Giving.
Fans and staff will work together to serve 500 Thanksgiving meals, which will include a box of fresh produce vegetables courtesy of LAFC Partner Melissa’s Produce, as well as a box of shelf stable pantry staples kindly donated by the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Meals will be distributed in a COVID-safe drive-thru at Banc of California Stadium to pre-selected families.
On Thanksgiving day, the LAFC staff will join up to support the Union Rescue Mission with a day of service, assisting with the preparation and serving of Thanksgiving dinner at the mission. In collaboration with Target, the LAFC virtual Holiday Toy Drive continues the LAFC Season of Giving starting on Black Friday, November 26th through December 8th. A target “wish list” registry will allow community members to purchase gifts for the children of Union Rescue Mission.
The toy drive will be followed by the LAFC Holiday Gift Wrapping Event, leading up to the Black & Gold Holiday Party on Tuesday, December 14 at the Union Rescue Mission’s Hope Gardens Family Center. LAFC will also take part in Magic Johnson’s Holiday Hope event, which will be hosted by Earvin “Magic” Johnson, co-owner of the LAFC. Together with the help from the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Rams, they will provide food, household essentials, toys, and gifts for 800 families in the Los Angeles metro area through a drive through event at the Challengers Boys & Girls Club.
